Over the years, a good chase scene has been known to draw hordes to the box office. Whether on foot, in cars, or in some other kind of transportation, these memorable chase scenes are some of the most-impressive ever filmed.
Ronin
Most car chases allow for a lot of room around the vehicles – there’s a reason the highways and byways of California are in so many films! But in crime thriller Ronin, set on the streets of Paris, the movie’s climactic chase scene is given an extra shot of adrenaline by the way the walls of the city close in around the cars.
Point Break
Known for being one of the greatest foot-chases in movie history, Keanu Reeves’s FBI agent goes after a bank robber in a mask. The thrill gets kicked into high gear without a single vehicle in sight.
Bullitt
Steve McQueen’s finest moment, this chase scene is situated on the streets of San Francisco (one of the best cities ever to wreck cars in). The chase is tense, gripping, and totally unpredictable. As you watch it, remember there are no special effects, just incredible driving at insane speeds.
The Blues Brothers
In this classic comedy, the police chase of our heroes through a Chicago mall. The chase, as you would expect, causes a ton of property damage and wrecks a ton of vehicles – two must-haves for a good chase.
